The Beliefs of the New Castle Christian Church
The following beliefs stem from our heritage in the Restoration Movement:
New Castle Christian Church is a New Testament Christian Church that believes and teaches that the Bible is the infallible Word of God.
The church of Jesus Christ on earth is essentially, intentionally, and constitutionally one. We consider ourselves Christians only, but not the only Christians. In expression, we believe that in essentials we are one, in opinions, we have liberty, and that everything we do must express the immeasurable love of God. We embrace no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, no law but love, no name but the Divine, and we call Bible things by Bible names.
We believe that our obedience to the Plan of Salvation found in God’s Word is key to our eternal salvation.
First, one must BELIEVE Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 3:16; Hebrews 11:1, 6).
One must REPENT of their sins. Godly sorrow leads to repentance and, therefore, to salvation (Luke 13:3; 2 Corinthians 7:10).
We act upon our belief and repentance by CONFESSING that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God, knowing that if we confess Christ before men, He will confess us before the Father (Matthew 10:32, 33; Romans 10:9, 10).
We believe in following the example of Jesus Christ by being BAPTIZED for the forgiveness of our sins and to receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Then we are added to Christ’s church as forgiven sinners who have risen to NEW LIFE. We must continue to live a FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE. (Matthew 28:18-20; Galatians 3:27; I Peter 3:21; Revelation 2:10).
We can know we are saved by obeying the Word of God, and we can fulfill the Great Commission by sharing God’s Word in love with the unsaved.
